Travel ideas: Europe

Antwerp, Belgium.

Antwerp feels like Brussels’ cooler, more interesting sibling. It’s in the contrast between Flemish facades and brutalist corners I guess.

24h itinerary

Check-in: August
Late morning. A former Augustinian convent turned design hotel. Stone, glass, and soft light. Quietly luxurious, but full of character.

Midday: Rubenshuis + Zuid
We start at the Rubenshuis. Intimate rooms, soft northern light, and paintings that still hold weight. Then a walk through Zuid district filled with art galleries and laid-back cafés

Afternoon: Plantin-Moretus Museum + Port House
The Plantin-Moretus Museum feels untouched—printing presses, typefaces, and paper that belonged to another century. After that, a jump forward: Zaha Hadid’s Port House, all angles and reflections, suspended above the harbor like it landed instead of being built.

Early Evening: Botanic Sanctuary Spa
A reset at Botanic Sanctuary’s spa. Stillness, steam, and monastic calm, but with better robes.

Dinner: The Jane
Dinner inside a deconsecrated chapel, lit like a film set. The food is sharp, intricate, and unforgettable. We’re not here to be subtle.

Next Morning: Groen Kwartier
After a slow wake-up and breakfast in bed, we take a final walk around Groen Kwartier, the quiet, leafy district surrounding the hotel.

A small historic fountain with classical statues, framed by trimmed hedges and a cobblestone pathway, in a garden surrounded by modern and brick buildings.
Historical buildings with ornate facades and statues on rooftops are in a city square, with people walking and cycling, outdoor cafes, and a fountain in the foreground.
Indoor swimming pool with lounge chairs along the right side and lanterns on the left side, surrounded by glass walls, in a modern building with a sloped roof.
